WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. โ€” The Wilderness Hotel and Golf Resort has partnered up with Robert John Field and his brother, Tim Field, of the famous Field’s Steak and Stein restaurant in Wisconsin Dells, to develop a new upscale dining experience at the Resort.

Scheduled to open in May, the $3.5 million restaurant — designed by James R. Dresser renowned protรฉgรฉ of Frank Lloyd Wright — will be an exciting expression of organic architecture.

According to Dresser, designer of outstanding buildings in 17 states, “The restaurant will include a 36-foot atrium highlighted with exotic plants; a display kitchen featuring a three-ton copper covered wood burning oven; and a wine selection bar displaying over 350 varieties of fine wines. In addition, waterfalls, elegant stained-glass skylights, 4 beautiful stone-hearth fireplaces and innovative fiber optic lighting with oak, mahogany, cedar and copper used throughout will add to the inviting atmosphere.”

The new restaurant will be capable of seating 305 patrons and will feature four private rooms for groups of eight โ€” 40 people. The entire dining area will feature large windows which will overlook dramatic landscaping utilizing copper water features. A bar will also be included in the new facility with a stage area for live entertainment and a patio for patrons to utilize during the summer months.

Pete Helland, general manager for the Resort commented, “The construction of this new restaurant is a result of our customers’ requests for an on-site restaurant and I can guarantee that they will not be disappointed. This will truly be a dining experience from the beautiful surroundings to the amazing food the Field’s will prepare.”

According to Tim Field, executive chef for the new restaurant, “The cuisine at Field’s at the Wilderness will be nothing less than spectacular with fresh seafood, steaks, chicken, veal and duck being served in eclectic ways straight from our wood burning ovens and on our wood burning grills.”

The Field brothers have received three consecutive Awards of Excellence from the Wine Spectator for their food and in-depth wine selection at Field’s Steak and Stein.

The Wilderness Hotel & Golf Resort features Klondike Kavern a 65,000 square-foot indoor waterpark; Fort Wilderness, a 22,000 square-foot smaller indoor waterpark; a 95,000 square foot outdoor waterpark; Wilderness Woods, a professionally-rated 18-hole golf course; 281 guest rooms; and 28 vacation villas with additional ones under construction.
